**Update June 7th**
I can't believe it is already the last week of school!  This has been a very weird way to end the school year and I am so sad that we did not get to spend the last few months together in the classroom.  It has been so awesome seeing you on our Zoom meetings and also seeing how hard you have been working during Virtual Schoolhouse.  I am so impressed by your hard work and dedication to learning.  I will be sending out through email and Class Dojo a Summer Math Document that has been created by the PWCS Math Departments.  It has some great math activities and games in order to continue your learning over the summer months.  We will be having our last Zoom meeting on Friday this week.  Hope to you you there!

**Update May 25th**
Happy Memorial Day!  Thank you to all of those military service members that go above and beyond to protect our country.  Your work is greatly appreciated!
The calendars for this week have been posted.  Please remember that our Zoom Office Hours will be on Thursday again this week and you will use the link and the code that was sent out last week through Class Dojo and Email.  Per Mrs. MacGregor's weekly message, as soon as we have definitive information on picking up your child's belongings from school we will notify you.  Please also note that this will be a time for you to drop off any school library books your child may have at home, strings instruments, teacher classroom books. etc.

**Update May 17th**
Wow! I can't believe that there are only 4 weeks left in the school year.  The Weekly Calendars have been updated and posted under the Files and Documents tab.  Please note that our Zoom Office Meetings will be on Thursday this week and also next week.  I will be sending out the Zoom Code to use for these two weeks on Wednesday through Class Dojo and Parent Vue email.  Thank you in advance for your understanding of this schedule change.  I know I say this every week but, thank you so much to those of you that are continuing to work from home.  You are doing such a great job and it is going to be so helpful next year that you have kept up with your studies this year.  I am so proud of your determination and effort!

**Update May 11th**
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and was able to stay warm during that weird cold front that we had.  I know I was not at all ready to have my winter coat on in May!  The calendars are up for the week under the Files and Documents link.  I am so proud of all of the students that are continuing to work hard and learn from home during this time.  I am checking daily to see the students progress on their assignments.  While all of the assignments are still optional, it is great practice for the review of skills we have learned this year and will keep them prepared for the next school year.  I was also happy to see so many of the students at our Zoom Office Hours last Friday.  I enjoy catching up with all of you and hearing about what you have been doing at home, besides school work.  It has been a great way to keep in touch when we can't see each other every day.

**Update May 3rd**
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!  It was so nice seeing the sun out and having a little break from all of the rain.  I have updated all of the Learning Calendars for this week.  As a reminder, report cards will be emailed to you on Tuesday, May 5th.  I sent an email through ParentVue asking you to reply so I could confirm that we have the correct email address on file.  Thank you to those of you that responded.  If you did not respond, please do so by Monday so report cards can be sent out on Tuesday.  Thank you to those of you that reached out to Mrs. MacGregor or Mrs. Sumers to have your information updated.  If I do not have an email for you, I will be sending a list of names to Mrs. MacGregor and the office will be reaching out to you in order to obtain one.  Thank you for your cooperation in this!

**Update April 24th**
The 4th Grade students were hard at work this week reviewing the Moon Phases.  Check out their work below!  It was so great seeing some of you at our Zoom meeting this morning and I've enjoyed the videos you've been sharing on Flipgrid.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and be on the lookout for next week's calendar.  Thank you for your continued support!

**Updated April 17th**
Check out the awesome work I received from some of the 5th grade students this week!  I am so happy to see that many of you are getting onto Nearpod, Study Island, and Epic.  It's great to see your learning continue!  I will have a new calendar up on Monday for next week and be on the lookout for a Flipgrid too!

**Updated April 12th**  I hope everyone had a happy and healthy Spring Break!  While break may not have looked the same as it has in the past, I hope you enjoyed the time with family.  I know I spent a lot of time on Facetime with my parents, sister, and nephew.  I have added the At Home Learning Calendar for this week to the Files and Documents folder.  During the Teacher Workday and throughout the upcoming week, I have several trainings and meetings about the upcoming instructional changes and software that we will be using.  It seems that things are changing almost daily for us so please remain patient as we try to navigate through this time.  I am always available for questions through Class Dojo or email.  We are hoping to have Zoom approved for our use sometime this week but are still awaiting guidance on how that will look at the elementary school level.

**Updated April 2nd**  Thank you to those of you that have replied to the Flipgrid I sent out this week.  It was so great to hear and see you!  If you have not tried out Flipgrid, it's a fun way that we an communicate with each other until more guidance on virtual learning is provided.  The link was sent out this week through Dojo and through email.  Students use their Microsoft login information to get into the link.  This is their school email (the one that ends with @pwcs-edu.org) and their password.  If you need help with their email, parents can login to ParentVue to get that information and to reset any forgotten passwords.  I do not have access to this information.
In addition, all of the assignments created over the past 3 weeks are all still available for completion.  If you did not get to an assignment, you can still go back and complete them.  I have made everything open so you can practice and review when it is convenient for you.

**Updated March 29th**  I have added At Home Learning activities to each of the grade level folders under the link to the left Files and Documents.  Also, be on the look out for a Flipgrid link that I will send out through Class Dojo.  As we wait for permission to use Zoom, I will be using Flipgrid to interact with the students.  As always, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions and concerns.

I have created folders under the link to the left titled Files and Documents.  In these folders I have put suggested activities that your child can work on while we are participating in home learning.  Please be sure to check Class Dojo for important updates and information.  I will be communicating to you through Dojo and School Messenger.  Please feel free to reach out to me at any time for questions and/or concerns.  This is a huge learning curve for all of us and if we can work together it will make it that much easier!

Now that we are at the halfway point of the school year, it is time to start thinking about reviewing for the SOL's.  They will be here before you know it!  Study Island is a great resource to review the skills we have learned so far this year and to also go back and review any skills that students are struggling with from previous years.  All students have access to both the 4th grade and previous grades standards through the VA Programs link on the left hand side of the Study Island page.

Students received their Study Island login information.  This is  a great resource to practice Reading, Math, Science, and Virginia Studies.  Students also have access to Prodigy for Math Practice.

I have uploaded the Study Guides for the  4th and 5th Grade Science Units into the Files and Documents folders on this page.   Students are also encouraged to get onto SOL Pass in order to practice the vocabulary for these units.
